Charles Fort

3> Charles Fort was probably the first UFOlogist.

He was born in 1874 in Albany, New York where he became a reporter and writer. After years of studying old news reports he found a pattern of strange aerial phenomena that had been reported throughout the years. He instantly became interested in the subject of UFOs and started writing many books.

He was concerned that the subject of UFO was not being taken seriously by science, and said "Science is established preposterousness, Science of today - superstition of tomorrow. Science of tomorrow - superstition of today".

He died in 1932.

Books:
The book of the Damned - 1919
New Lands - 1923
